Point Park is a ten-acre memorial park with views of Chattanooga and the Lookout Mountain Battlefield.
A paved walking path circles the park and passes past numerous historical tablets and monuments. positions for Confederate artillery, and a beautiful view.
The New York Peace Memorial, which was built by the state of New York as a homage to peace and reconciliation between Union and Confederate veterans after the war, is one of Point Park’s greatest monuments.
The Ochs Memorial Observatory is located inside Point Park at the summit of the mountain. Moccasin Bend, which is viewable below the point, photography, and Civil War signaling exhibits are all located inside. Each adult (16 years of age and above) must pay $5 to enter Point Park. A tourist center close to the park has displays on the Civil War battle for Chattanooga, including a sizable painting titled “The Battle Above the Clouds.”
