Joint Louisville & Nashville Railroad Historical Society and Southern Railway Historical Association Convention

It’s time to register for the annual convention – this year, it will be a special, joint event, co-sponsored by The Louisville & Nashville Railroad Historical Society, the Southern Railway Historical Association, and the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. All convention activities will be at TVRM’s Chattanooga campus.

Of special interest to modelers will be a Railroad Prototype Modelers Meeting (RPM), held in conjunction with the convention. By hosting an RPM at this joint meeting, we hope to take modeling to a new level and in the process establish a Southeastern U.S. RPM.

There will be more than a dozen clinics — most of them having a special focus on L&N and SR predecessors and successors. There will be model displays, and we encourage you to bring your models to display.

A special event on Friday will be the dedication of the new L&NHS Archives. You can tour the archives; and you can also visit the Southern Railway Historical Association’s archives — located in the same building. We think you will be impressed by what’s been accomplished by both groups.

You can ride TVRM’s Missionary Ridge Local (using your convention name badge as your ticket). And you can also visit TVRM’s extensive collection of locomotives and rolling stock and take a guided tour of their Soule Shops, located in East Chattanooga.

Following dinner Friday evening, hear our guest speaker (To be named). The last activity on Friday will be a joint L&NHS Company Store & SRHA Grab Sale.

There may be a special train ride on Saturday, but that depends if the train’s planned route is available. If it is, tickets will be available through TVRM.

Saturday night’s banquet will be on wheels . . . . on TVRM’s dinner train. You will need to purchase a dinner train ticket when you register. Space on the train will be limited, so we encourage you to sign up for both the convention and the dinner train early

Registering for the convention is easy: You can sign up on our website: www.lnrr.org or you can mail your registration, using the form printed in the L&N Magazine and on the L&NHS website. If you register by mail, please include a check or money order (no cash) and send it to the address shown on the form. Please complete registration by August 31st.
